Little Scandinavian

CITY GOATS, a slow kidswear brand for healthy, beautiful living.

City Goats is a slow kidswear brand for healthy, beautiful living. Crafted with GOTS-certified natural plant dyes and organic cotton, City Goats kidswear has a real beauty that we believe lies in its simplicity and sustainability.

There are a lot of similarities between North East Asian and Nordic design, as both styles are focused on keeping the look very clean and simple, and leaning towards using a lot of white and natural materials. There’s a clear trend in the Nordics for slow living.

And it’s a pleasure to discover the same environmentally consciousness when it comes to fashion, from China. We met the designer Ching Ching Wong from City Goats in Copenhagen last August, where she was exhibiting at CIFF kids as well as sourcing inspiration from travelling and exploring the Nordics. We especially think it’s a positive trend, when younger designers look to Scandinavia to learn and listen, to manufactur eco-friendly clothing. Ms Wong has experience as a women’s designer. Despite her traditional background she does has a certain European flair to her designs.

The City Goats AW16 collection is minimally designed with sophisticated details; beautiful yet practical for everyday creative and imaginative play. Earth-friendly to air, soil and water – locally manufactured supporting a small family-run business.

Ching Ching Wong is the designer and founder of City Goats. Her grandfather and father had been traditional Chinese medicinal practitioners for over 40 years in China and Hong Kong. Ching Ching’s childhood was full of memories of seeing, touching, and playing with different therapeutic herbs. Inspired by the birth of her daughter, Ching Ching has been searching for kids clothing that is healthy but which is also aesthetic. Since she couldn’t find what she was looking for, she created City Goats.

Embracing traditions while moving forward with the future, City Goats aim is to provide modern parents with the best of simple, beautiful clothing for children whilst considering their health and their future environment.
